Concert/Cabaret
Premier: The Love You Take

Diego and The Soulz
of Rhythm, along with his special guest Cici Gramer, will premier “The Love You Take”
at The Red Barn Theatre in Saugatuck, Michigan,on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at
8:00pm. This original cabaret
style show takes you through a high-spirited journey of love found and
lost.
Diego, has performed as front man for De Ja Kool, Blind Ride, Hard
Drive, The Goodfellas, Holland Swing, and, currently,
the Soulz of Rhythm - even opening for national
recording acts, like the Spinners.
His smooth vocal stylings and
versatility have led newspaper reviewers to dub him “The Cuban Sam
Cooke”. His performances
exhibit influences of Cooke, Elvis, Bobby Darin, Sam and Dave, Tom Jones,
Jay Black, and Tony Orlando. Diego
also works as a screen writer and freelance model, with film and
commercial credits.
Cici has
been performing in venues from the cabaret stage to the concert hall
since the age of 3. Her command of the stage, vocal versatility and sense
of humor have made her one of the most sought-after and celebrated
performers in the Mid-West. A
multiple award-winning actress, she enjoys working in opera and musical
theater alike. Opera Grand Rapids, Actors
Theatre, The Bijou Orchestra, and the Holland Symphony Orchestra are just a
few of the local organizations that enjoy working with Cici. Her
cabaret shows stand among the best in the region, and she is a working
freelance model and film/commercial talent in the Grand
Rapids, Holland, Chicago and L.A.
markets.
The Soulz of
Rhythm bring a healthy mix of Soul, R&B, Funk, Swing, and Rock
‘n Roll to Michigan’s music scene. The Soulz’
songs include many classic R&B/Soul hits, but also 50’s,
60’s and 70’s, Rock ‘n Roll,
Funk, and Swing. They love the horn lines in many of these songs, but
when the song is purely Rock & Roll, the horn players will sing
background vocals and add a little Rhythm of their own. Some of their
musical choices border on what might seem obscure, songs that were not
always the "A" side of the record but great songs nonetheless.
And when The Soulz of Rhythm places its own
twist on these songs, they come alive all over again!
Doors at the Red Barn Theater open at 7:00
pm, with wine and appetizers available, show time at 8:00 pm. General admission tickets cost $20, $15
for Seniors, and are available at the Red Barn Theater box office.
